A training team can deliver a polished course and still struggle to update it next month. The authoring decision determines where the editable source lives, how reviewers approve changes, and what happens when the course is published into a learning system. A long feature list matters less than keeping that production cycle reliable.
Articulate 360 AI, iSpring Suite, Adobe Captivate, Easygenerator, and dominKnow ONE approach that work differently. This guide compares the creation and maintenance of interactive learning content. Managing enrollment and learner programs is covered separately in our employee learning platform comparison. A simple presentation may need only business slide software.
Official product and pricing information was checked on October 16, 2026. These are research-based recommendations, not hands-on usability scores. Check the exported course in your own LMS and on the devices your learners actually use before committing to a production workflow.

| Adobe Captivate | Interactive training and software instruction | Responsive creation and review workflow | Current and Classic project maintenance need distinction |
| Easygenerator | Subject experts creating structured training | Browser collaboration with clear author plans | Entry plan has course and learner limits |
| dominKnow ONE | Reusable content across a governed catalog | Shared content management and multiple formats | Custom licensing and implementation scope |
Articulate 360 AI
Articulate combines Rise for responsive courses with Storyline for more customized interactive content. Review provides a stakeholder feedback path, while publishing options include LMS packages and integrated distribution. That range suits a team that produces both straightforward lessons and interactions requiring an instructional designer.
The public pricing page lists Articulate 360 AI Teams at $1,749 per seat per year and Personal at $1,449 per seat per year in USD. Advanced workflows such as translation and AI avatar video use separately purchased credits. A seat price therefore does not describe every production cost.
Strength: different authoring depths can share a broader production environment. Limitation: the team must choose which tool and project structure it will maintain. A custom interaction is only useful if another author can safely update it later.
Articulate’s separate Frontline offer has a different credit-based commercial model and is not a substitute for the same Rise and Storyline entitlement. Shortlist 360 AI when dedicated designers need that depth, and ask for an estimate covering creators, distribution, and the advanced workflows you actually expect to use.
iSpring Suite
iSpring Suite fits teams whose approved learning material already starts in PowerPoint. Its course production approach combines slide-based material with quizzes, narration, and other training elements. That can preserve a familiar editing environment while adding an LMS-ready output rather than rebuilding every lesson in a different browser editor.
The checked pricing page lists iSpring Suite at $970 per author per year and iSpring Suite AI at $1,290 per author per year. It separately lists iSpring Cloud AI at $720 per author per year. These are different products and packages, not three names for an identical seat.
Strength: a practical path from existing presentation assets into structured learning. Limitation: a slide deck still needs instructional editing. Dense presentation slides do not become effective lessons simply because they now include a completion record.
The current product material advertises SCORM 1.2, SCORM 2004, xAPI, and cmi5 publishing. Validate the chosen output in your LMS, including resume behavior, scores, and completion conditions. Confirm workstation requirements and review entitlements for the exact edition. Choose Suite when the desktop editing workflow fits your authors and retaining slide-based source is a deliberate advantage.
Adobe Captivate
Adobe Captivate is relevant when the lesson needs interactive instruction, responsive layouts, or software-oriented learning rather than a linear reading experience. Its current product page highlights device previews and stakeholder review links. Reviewers can provide input without installing the authoring application, which helps separate subject approval from author access.
The important maintenance boundary is between current Captivate and Captivate Classic. Adobe provides separate paths for maintaining Classic courses. Before choosing a package, identify which application owns your existing project files and what a future editor will need to change them.
Strength: a dedicated authoring environment with an explicit review workflow. Limitation: teams inheriting a catalog must account for source formats and application versions, not only the exported course files.
The buying guide describes team subscriptions through Adobe’s Value Incentive Plan and directs buyers to contact Adobe. No stable public numeric team amount was available in the checked guide, so obtain a quote for the required seats, term, and generative allowances. Shortlist Captivate when its interaction model fits the lesson, and use one existing course to verify the maintenance route before moving the catalog.
Easygenerator
Easygenerator focuses on browser-based creation that subject experts can participate in, with collaboration becoming a central distinction between plans. It is worth considering when knowledge owners need to contribute directly instead of handing every small correction to a specialist author.
Pro is displayed at $125 per month with $1,499 billed annually, one author, ten courses, and 100 learners. Team starts from five authors and is displayed at $625 per month with $7,495 billed annually, unlimited courses and learners, co-authoring, and unlimited reviewers. Use the stated annual invoice figures; the monthly display is rounded.
Strength: a clear path from individual creation to shared review. Limitation: the entry package’s limits matter, and advanced video or coaching offers are separate add-ons. The FAQ’s general wording about unlimited learners should not override the specific Pro card’s 100-learner limit.
SCORM export appears among the Pro features, while the comparison distinguishes additional publishing options. Confirm the particular export your LMS accepts. Choose Easygenerator when distributed authorship is the main need, but assign a content owner who can resolve conflicting expert edits and approve the final learning objective.
dominKnow ONE
dominKnow ONE brings authoring and learning content management together. Its current pricing page emphasizes traditional and responsive design, software simulation, shared media, content reuse, versioning, and multilingual project management. That makes it interesting when the same instruction appears in multiple courses and repeated corrections are becoming a maintenance problem.
The platform’s strength is managing the source and its reuse as part of production. A team can evaluate whether a shared content item can be updated consistently while preserving appropriate differences between learning experiences. This requires content architecture as well as an editor.
Limitation: the governance model needs configuration and an owner. Reusing a paragraph widely without knowing its dependencies can spread an unsuitable update just as easily as a helpful one.
Business, Business PLUS, and Enterprise are custom quoted per author; learners are described as free. Business PLUS targets teams of five or more. Deployment, single sign-on, success services, translation, and delivery allowances vary or carry additional costs. Shortlist dominKnow when reusable source and controlled catalog maintenance justify that broader implementation conversation, and request an itemized agreement.
Use a revision exercise to choose
Give each shortlisted tool the same small learning objective. For example, teach an employee to recognize an incorrect purchase request, choose the right next action, and explain why. Include a short explanation, a decision point, feedback for an incorrect answer, and a completion condition. Judge whether the structure supports the objective rather than whether it can display more animations.
Next, change the underlying procedure. Ask another author to find the source, update one instruction, resolve a review comment, and republish. Check whether the LMS receives the intended version and whether an existing learner’s progress behaves acceptably. This proposed exercise exposes maintenance costs that a first-course demonstration can hide.
Accessibility also belongs in the evaluation. Inspect keyboard navigation, reading order, captions, contrast, and the clarity of feedback in the actual exported course. A vendor’s accessibility features cannot ensure that every course an author builds will be usable. Keep review responsibilities with the publishing team.
- Inventory editable source files and the applications needed to maintain them.
- Specify LMS format, scoring, completion, and resume expectations.
- Count authors separately from reviewers and learners.
- Budget for translation, media, AI usage, and distribution where applicable.
- Give every course an owner, review date, and approved update path.
Articulate suits teams needing varied instructional design depth; iSpring suits slide-based production; Captivate deserves evaluation for dedicated interactive instruction; Easygenerator suits expert participation; and dominKnow suits reusable governed content. The right choice is the one your team can revise accurately after the launch deadline has passed.
